Few things I find more irritating in in today's political polarization is the claim that both sides. So when the local regional paper , the Sun Chronicle(based out of Attleboro , Massachusetts), added that President's Biden's comments on January 6th, 2024 (which was 3rd Anniversary of the insurrection), in an editorial called "Our View: Never Forget but Let's Move Forward' which proceeded to compare both the political left and right as equal. It insinuated that both sides are equally at fault for the polarization. Ignoring decades of sustained right wing extremism permeating from the right through right-wing propaganda that have fed this extremism and which has culminated in events like the January 6th insurrection. Leading the charge were entities such as Fox "News" and conservative talk radio that have. In effect it was in effect chastising President Biden for speaking out against it. If anything it's about time he did so. It's his job to defend the Constitution of the United States according to oath of office he took.
I did right a letter to the editor which appeared in the Sun Chronicle on January 16, 2024.
It is sad when those in the mass media in an attempt avoid accusations being politically biased seem to over compensate by giving them the same weight of value with little or no nuance or context. I'm not against presenting the truth regardless politics but it doesn't mean both sides are correct or have the same credibility.
