First let me say it is so refreshing to have Jon Stewart back in 2024 election cycle. It seemed he took his hiatus at just the moment we could have used his insight and humor in the foreseen Trump rise to the Presidency. Nothing against Trevor Noah whom I love very much also. There is something about Stewart's style and manner that just hits different.
Second, this cancel culture, manufactured grievance, and outrage has been has been going on for years. When Donald came down the escalator in 2015 this extreme wing of the right had found it's leader and spokesperson. Donald's brash style of narcissism, misogyny and grievance made for a perfect match that few foresaw in the mainstream.
Third Jon rightly points out the irony of those complaining on the right about the the woke left silencing the right. The right tells you this on talk radio, podcasts, Fox "News", OAN, Newsmax, books, countless PACs, bloggers, Tik Toker's, YouTuber's and so on. If only they could be heard.
